With so many breakfast places to choose from its easy to make an impact, its hard to stay the course, i certainly hope the Nook sticks around.
Seating is outside and even though its on the PCH there's a nice glass barrier that keeps the traffic noise to a minimum,
I went for the country breakfast consisting of biscuits, sausage gravy, hash browns and 2 eggs, all of this feast was incredible, the biscuit was huge and smothered in delicious gravy with 2 sausage patties.
Hash browns were ordered crisp and came out perfectly.
Coffee was fresh and on tap, service was good. -

First time here and I'm quite disappointed.
My friend ordered the seafood Benedict and the imitation crab and shrimp that came with it had a weird taste. Hollandaise sauce was excessive, the English muffin was pretty much soaked and soggy.
I ordered the Breakfast Croissant Sandwich. The sandwich was delicious, however for our taste, we think the hash brown was undercooked. It was too soft and greasy, and it could have been a little more crispy.
I also ordered a clam chowder, and I think it was too thick and bland. I had them take it back.
The server I feel was not up to par. I think she could work on her awareness. She was not attentive at all. I asked for an apple juice and did not receive it, she did not ask if we are good or checked up on us until after our meal. She refilled our once and did not pick up the cups, just poured the water right over us, and spilled water on our table. She didn't even attend to that by bringing napkins or anything. We asked for our checks 3 times and took a while to get it.
Granted, she has a great attitude and was super sweet, but I did just have a terrible first experience.
Overall, I do not recommend this place. -

Discovered this spot after an overnight stay in Torrance and I am so glad we gave it a try. I don't live anywhere near here but I would drive back!
Quaint, modern and cozy atmosphere with both inside and outside seating. AC works great, too in case anyone wanted to know that!
So the food... I had corned beef hash and eggs with biscuit and gravy on the side. Corned beef hash was excellent, very meaty as opposed to being heavy on the potatoes. Very flavorful and their house made salsa complimented the dish perfectly. They have both mild and hot salsa and the hot will make your nose run! So good.
Biscuits are fluffy and tall! We saw a whole tray of them on our way out of the restaurant all buttery on top. Gravy was good, not overly salty and nice consistency. Others in my party had the ham steak and French toast and said those were equally good.
Lots of menu choice both healthy and classic. Would love to come back and try the healthy breakfast burrito or the taco omelette. Burgers looked great, too!
Affordable and plentiful, definitely worth a visit! Manager was also super active ensuring people were seated in a timely manner. All staff welcomed us and greeted us on way out. Classy! -

Pretty good food, we were impressed with the quality of food. Very clean bathrooms . You can tell there is pride in ownership of the nook.
Me and kiddo shared the the matchaca plate . Awesome food. -

If you're looking for a spot to grab a hearty breakfast in Lomita and can't decide exactly what you want, look for The Nook. Whether you're coming by yourself or having a get together, this restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate your party. The staff is very friendly, so kudos to them for making my visits so pleasant.
Depending on what you feel like, I must warn you that their portion sizes are "generous". You could go with something simple like an oatmeal or a fruit bowl, but why would you do that? Just saying that you really get your money's worth when you dine in. I order their Breakfast Croissant Sandwich, which is my favorite plate here. They load up the plate with breakfast potatoes, so like I said before... very generous. The Nook's Special is something I would recommend ordering if this is your first time here. Chorizo, eggs (any way you want it), topped with avocado and tomato... so good!
Come in to a spot like this with no expectations and you'll always leave full and ready to start your morning. Will come back again!
